Abby Dobson...An American singer, songwriter and performer from New York City described as "soulful" and "organic." Some singers need to be surrounded by a variety of equipment to move people, but this powerful artist simply needs an audience. She is one of those rare songbirds that effortlessly stimulate sensual, soulful and raw emotions using just her vocal instrument, a voice that you don’t just hear…you feel it. I've known this beautiful vocalist for years as a member of my female singer-songwriter collective called "Soul Divas Night Out" and I dubbed her "Soul Diva" because her voice blessed you right down to your soul each and every time she sang! She is presently promoting her latest CD "Sleeping Beauty: Are you the one you have been waiting on?" on her own independent label LadyBraveBird Music. She will be performing at the Blue Note Jazz Festival in New York City on June 5, 2011 and has made her debut appearance recently at the Kennedy Arts Center in Washington, DC earlier this year!
What makes her beautiful is her humble approach to singing a song and totally allowing her gift to just rise from her soul. When she opens her mouth the notes just pour out of her and spread around the room to embrace you with LOVE, GOODNESS, and PURITY where GOOSEBUMPS just can't help but flow all up and down your arms to your spine! How divine is her gift of song that truly is SOUL MUSIC!
